Way Back When-sday
No time to explain this one from the late 1960s right now ... but Mama is not beating me in the face with a wooden spoon as punishment. So don't call the cops.

Teaser photo
Mama fixes her crab line as Pops tosses his into the water during our family's recent vacation. We had so many people we rented one house on the oceanfront and one on the soundfront (where this was taken). This is the morning of the night Ma and Pa spent at the soundfront home. Pops is still in his eye-catching loungewear and slippers on this beautiful morning.
There are different methods of crabbing. We mainly used a hand line and dip net. Learn about some of the different methods here.
I'll post more soon. I haven't had much opportunity to work with the photos since returning from vacation. It's been kind of hectic at work.

Thursday Thing-along
In case you are in the mood to sing along:
Do that to me one more time
Once is never enough with a man like you
Do that to me one more time
I can never get enough of a man like you
Whoa-oh-oh, kiss me like you just did
Oh, baby, do that to me once again
Pass that by me one more time
Once just isn't enough for my heart to hear
Whoa-oh-oh, tell it to me one more time
I can never hear enough while I got'ya near
Whoa-oh-oh, say those words again that you just did
Oh, baby tell it to me once again
[Instrumental Interlude]
Do that to me one more time
Once is never enough with a man like you
Whoa-oh-oh, do that to me one more time
I can never get enough of a man like you
Whoa-oh-oh, kiss me like you just did
Oh, baby do that to me once again
Whoa-oh-oh, baby, do that to me once again
Whoa-oh-ho-oh-oh-oh, baby
Do that to me one more time
(Do it again)
One more time
(Do it again)
One more time
(Do it again)
One more time
(Do it again)
One more time
(Do it again)
One more time

Way Back When-sday
In honor of just returning from vacation in North Carolina, this is a picture of my brothers and me and two of our cousins at the same beach in the mid-to-late 70s.

The sun has set on vacation
This is a video of the sun setting over Bogue Sound in Emerald Isle, N.C. on Thursday night. I put the camera on the edge of the yard and dock of the cottage we rented and just let it record. This is real time -- no speeding up or slowing down in this one.
It was an absolutely gorgeous view. But the vacation is now over. I guess all good things must come to an end. More pictures, videos and links to come.

Crabs anyone?

Had the crab pot in for only about three minutes before the first one climbed in.

Signs, signs, everywhere signs...
Uploaded by www.cellspin.net
Went for a bike ride along the beachfront road this morning. Each of the public access points has these signs telling people about the nesting sea turtles and other things.

Way Back When-sday
This is a picture of my Uncle Tony (Mama's brother) at the beach making one of those drip sand castles. I'm guessing it's from the mid to late 1950s. What is impressive about this picture is Uncle Tony's shadow... No wonder Aunt Barbara married him ;-)

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I was going through the channels the other day and stopped on CSpan for a second to see what they were doing. Lo and behold, I noticed one of the interns, pages, or some kind of helper dude hardly able to stay awake during the testimony.
