Helicopter landing behind the house

The Maryland State Police helicopter uses the playground of the elementary school behind the house as a landing zone when it gets called here for emergencies. On Sunday night, it was called here to transport the victim of a motorcycle accident. Usually they take victims of serious accidents or assaults to the Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Been there...done that. Only I wasn't the one who got the ride to shock trauma. I got the trip in the ambulance to the hospital in Elkton. Then, Natalie had to come and get me and drive me to Shock Trauma to see my boyfriend who got the ride. But, I think they landed in the road that day...Not at the school. Tough to remember though since I was strapped to a spinal board and couldn't see.

Silly Bug...by the time you got there...the helicopter was gone. You were at WC. I had to call the hall phone and let it ring and ring and ring until you answered it. My dad was on the boat. My mom was somewhere and couldn't be reached. Chris was at WC and I didn't have a number for him. I was stuck at the hospital with no one get me. I remember telling the nurse to call the hall phone and just let it ring. I knew you'd answer! Ah..the time before cell phones! Just how did we survive!?!?!

The dog's name was Lena.
